History
“Amazone” is a wooden, gaff-rigged international 8mR (First Rule). We believe she was built in Asker, Norway, at the Ankers and Jensen boatyard in 1912 to a design by Johann Anker. Her sail number was H-3, and in 1914 she was owned by Thor Dahl of Standeford, Norway. She came to our yard in Aldeburgh via a Norwegian client who had a 6mR that was being worked on. It is thought that she had been in Holland for some time where she was being used as a houseboat. Peter Wilson took the boat as part-payment for the work being done on the 6mR.She is currently in our yard, and is in need of a full restoration.Dimensions:LWL: 20′ 1″Beam 7′ 4″Draft: 4′ 7″Auxiliary power: None
