History
Catina VI was commissioned by Enrico Pozzani for the Olympics in 1936. Beltrami went to Germany to study the waters around Kiel and spent weeks with Henry Rasmussen at his yard. Beltrami´s goal was to build a winner for medium to heavy airs, but in the light weather trials in Italy Catina VI was outperformed by Italia. Catina VI and Former IEMA president Fred Meyer are one. She is a classic example of a perfect vintage 8-Metre, impeccably maintained and sailed hard by a crew of family and friends. Since 2022, Fred Meyer's son Axel is skippering Catina, with his mother Regina on the backstays and a crew of friends.
