From her launch in 1930 until 1932 If was owned by Halfdan Ditlev-Simonsen, Fredrikstad, Norway. IN 1932 sold to Colonel FH Cleaver from the UK, who owned her until 1938.From 1938 till-1966 she was owned by Thomas Crosbie from Cork, Ireland. It was in this period that her 1st engine was installed in 1954. From 1966 till 1973 she was owned by Thomas Rose. And from 1973 till 2000 she was owned by Arthur Shirley, Thanketon, Scotland. Where ‘IF’ spent 27 years in his garden as decorationpiece !From 2000 till 2016 she was in the capabale hands of Peter Wilson, Aldenburgh, UK. She was relaunched in 2001 in time for the America’s Cup Jubliee. Since Peter Wilson always sailed to the Eight Metre World Cup regattas, there is now a Trophy named after this boat, for the eight metre that travelled furthest towards the world cup regatta on its own keel. In 2017 If returned to the Oslo Fjord. She has been restored to a thoroubred racing machine.
