Aurora, originally named Silhouette was one of 11 Starling Burgess designed, Abeking Rasmussen built Eight Metres. They were all together designed and built for the New York Yacht Club as Olympic Contenders. Out of these 11 Eights, 4 still exist, 2 still race and 2 are for sale as a restoration project layed up in Ontario.Apart from being competitive race boats Eight Metre Yachts have proved to be great seacoast. Many owners have extensively cruised their Eight along the coasts of Europe, Canada, USA, Australia and New Zealand.A great example is John Schlagel, he has now logged over 50.000 miles cruising the coast of America, Canada and Alaska onboard Aurora.Today she needs a full restoration (trailer not included) Location Erin, Ontario, Canada
